Sio gets new AWLR A new Automatic Water Level Recorder (AWLR) has been installed at the Sio hydrological station in Busia, two years after unknown people vandalized the station’s automatic system. The station, managed by the Directorate of Water Resources Management, measures the water levels and discharge of River Sio which drains into Lake Victoria. The station’s manual gauge was also upgraded during the works carried out between January 23rd and February 3rd, 2008. The project financed the construction works, equipment and installation. |
